"It’s hard to have a sister who is perfect." -page 3

The narrator, Nadira, has a perfect sister named Aisha, (well at least in her mind). Her parents’ care, brag, and focus on her sister rather than Nadira because they think she’s the world. They brag about how smart she is, that she is better than the boys. I feel that gives us a lot of information on how smart her sister is, because he said that in their hometown, Dhaka, Bangladesh. Her parents’ focus on her sister results in Nadira’s confidence and self-esteem being very low. She feels like she is invisible and not good at anything. Everyone has a weak spot. I’m kind of surprised that Nadira hasn’t mention or realized her sister’s weak spot; she only said she is perfect, smart, and does everything right. Nadira needs to stop comparing herself to her sister in order to care on with her life and help her parents. Nadira also could be smart like her sister if she studies hard, is determined, and keeps her head up.
